Tonight’s Pinellas Prep Matchups

Published:

Palm Harbor University (3-1) at St. Petersburg (3-1): With state powerhouse Bradenton Manatee likely to take the district’s top spot, this game is the de facto runner-up contest with the winner having the inside track for a playoff spot. PHU quarterback Tyler Kaminski (44 of 84, 607 yards) will need to have a strong game against St. Petersburg.

Carrollwood Day (2-3) at Canterbury (5-0): Lancers are on a roll offensively and defensively. Canterbury has only allowed 33 points (6.6 per game) through five games.

Clearwater (0-5) at Countryside (3-1): The winless Tornadoes will have a tough assignment against a Cougars team coming off a bye week and a 45-0 win over Northeast the previous week.

Northeast (0-4) at Pinellas Park (5-0): The Vikings have yet to score this season.

Seminole (1-4) at East Lake (5-0): The host Eagles are coming off a 49-6 rivalry win against Tarpon Springs.

Indian Rocks Christian (3-2) at Bradenton Christian (3-2): The Golden Eagles will need to win this game if they look to keep pace in a top heavy Class 2A-District 5.

St. Petersburg Catholic (3-1) at Clearwater Central Catholic (4-1): Best small school matchup in Pinellas County, as the Barons and Marauders meet. CCC made easy work of Ocala Trinity Catholic in Friday’s 38-14 victory.

Northside Christian (1-3) at Cambridge Christian (3-2): Mike Alstott will lead his Northside Christian group against Cambridge, which has scored 153 points in its last three games.

Osceola (3-2) at Largo (4-1): A big Class 6A-District 7 matchup between the Warriors and coach Rick Rodriguez’s Packers will go a long way in determining who will take one of the two postseason spots, with state power Venice in the division.

Tarpon Springs (3-2) at Gibbs (1-4): The Gladiators must avoid a loss to the Spongers if they look to stay in contention for a postseason berth in Class 5A-District 8.

Dixie Hollins (2-2) at Venice (4-1): The Rebels enter a hostile environment against a Venice team ranked among the top 20 in the state.

Lakewood (3-2) at Boca Ciega (1-4): Cory Moore and crew look to lock up district win No. 2 against a Pirates team that fell 41-0 to St. Petersburg on Friday.

Calvary Christian (4-1) at Admiral Farragut (2-2): After a must-needed win against Carrollwood Day on Friday, Admiral Farragut now faces a very good Calvary Christian team looking for win No. 5.
