Class 6A-Region 2
EAST BAY (16-9) at
COUNTRYSDE (20-6), 4 p.m., at Countryside Recreation Center: The top pitcher in Hillsborough County, East Bay's Kayla Cox, and the top pitcher in Pinellas County, Countryside's Alyssa Bache, will go head to head. East Bay is making its first regional appearance since 2005, while Countryside lost to Durant in the region semifinals last season.
MITCHELL (18-7) at
RIVERVIEW (16-10): These two underdog programs pulled off some upsets to get to the playoffs. Mitchell upset top-seeded Sickles to reach the District 8 championship, while Riverview upset the Nos. 2 and 1 seeds to win the District 7 title.
Class 5A-Region 2
BLOOMINGDALE (20-8) at LAND O'LAKES (18-4): Both teams were eliminated in the quarterfinal round last season. Bloomingdale lost to River Ridge, 2-1; Land O' Lakes lost to Newsome, 10-6.
RIVER RIDGE (20-7) at
NEWSOME (23-5): These teams met in the region semifinals last year, with Newsome winning 3-0. The Wolves have outscored opponents 217-51 this season.
Class 5A-Region 3
PLANT (20-6) at PALM HARBOR (22-4), 4 p.m.: Plant escaped the quarterfinal round with a 2-1 win over East Lake in eight innings last season en route to the region championship. The Panthers are led by Furman-bound pitcher Kayla Suskauer (11-6) and Michigan State commitment Sarah Bowling, who is second in Hillsborough County with six home runs.
EAST LAKE (18-9) at
CHAMBERLAIN (25-2): Chamberlain, ranked 17th in the latest ESPN FAB 50 national poll, has one of the top infields in the state with shortstop Samantha Holle (Florida), second baseman Marissa Menendez (UCF) and first baseman Stephanie Medina (USF).
Class 3A-Region 3
TAMPA CATHOLIC (15-3) at SARASOTA CARDINAL
MOONEY: Tampa Catholic hasn't reached the playoffs since 2004. The Crusaders are led by junior Kathryn Spack's 24 hits and 20 RBIs, and freshman pitcher Tory Bohanan (10-2).

LAKELAND SANTA FE
CATHOLIC (18-7) at TAMPA PREP (8-4): Tampa Prep lost in the quarterfinals last season to Winter Park All Saints'. The Terrapins haven't advanced past the quarterfinals since 1999.
Class 1A-Region 3
BAYSHORE CHRISTIAN (3-11) at SEFFNER CHRISTIAN (11-8), 4 p.m.: Seffner Christian advanced to the region final last season, falling to Canterbury School. Junior shortstop Nicci Hopps is one of the top hitters in Hillsborough County with a .656 batting average, 42 hits and 25 extra base hits.
SONRISE CHRISTIAN (3-7) at CAMBRIDGE (16-7), 4 p.m, at Lou Piniella Field: Cambridge Christian, the last Hillsborough County team to win a state title (2005), owns three state titles and has the most tourney wins of any county team with 44. Eighth-grade catcher Lindsey Hagberg leads the Lancers with 27 hits, 35 RBIs and a county-leading eight homers.
ACADEMY AT THE LAKES (14-5) at SARASOTA
CHRISTIAN (9-7), 4 p.m.: Academy at the Lakes lost in the quarterfinals last season to Bradenton Christian.
