WHEN/WHERE: 7 p.m./John Benedetto Stadium, 20325 Gator Lane, Land O’ Lakes

COACHES: Jay Fulmer (Ridgewood); Brian Wachtel (Land O’ Lakes)

NEED TO KNOW: The Gators are off to a strong start, notching impressive victories against River Ridge (32-0) and Anclote (24-7). Land O’ Lakes’ offense has been fueled by the play of 6-foot-6 quarterback James Pensyl (40-for-70, 594 yards), who has thrown for four touchdowns. Wachtel’s squad is looking to go 3-0 against feisty Ridgewood, a team that gave Mitchell problems in last Friday’s wild 41-30 victory. The Rams were able to rush for 275 yards and relied upon sophomore tailback Glass Wilson, who rushed for 99 yards on 19 carries. For Ridgewood to stay in the game against Land O’ Lakes, it will have to rely on its ability to keep the ball away from the Gators’ offense. With the Rams only carrying around 25 varsity players, they’ll have to win the time of possession battle against Land O’ Lakes.
