Nate Craig, one of the area’s top receivers for Pasco High, said he has transferred to Tampa Catholic.
Craig, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound sophomore who has 17 Division-I offers including Ohio State, Auburn and Florida State and is one of the nation’s top 2016 recruits, enrolled Tuesday, but he will not be able to participate in spring football because the semester has begun.
In two seasons with Pasco, he had 37 catches for 502 yards and 12 touchdowns. Craig is the younger brother of former Pasco and Purdue University player Josh Johnson, and the nephew of Trey Dudley-Giles, who is a starting defensive back at Massachusetts.
Coach Tom McHugh said he wasn’t blindsided by the transfer. “I knew it was coming, just didn’t know when,” McHugh said.
