Each week, the Tribune prep sports staff selects a Male and Female Athlete of the Week. The selections are based on athletic performance. For video, visit TBO.com/sports/preps to meet our selections.

Logan Crouse, Bloomingdale

WHY WE CHOSE HIM: Crouse struck out five and scored the winning run in the Class 8A-Region 2 final against Winter Park to send the Bulls into this week's state final four. In the region semifinals last week, Crouse took over on the mound in the fifth inning and hit the game-winning RBI double in extra innings for a 5-3 win against Plant.

COLLEGE PLANS: The junior has verbally committed to Florida State.

Amanda Chromiak, Robinson

WHY WE CHOSE HER: Chromiak caught a touchdown pass, Robinson's only score of the game, in the state championship game against Seminole Ridge, which the Knights won, 7-6, to capture the first flag football state title in Hillsborough County history. In the state semifinal, Chromiak had 15 flag pulls and five sacks as Robinson beat Tallahassee Godby, 7-0.

COLLEGE PLANS: She plans to study to become a veterinarian at the University of North Carolina.
