MELBOURNE — Tampa Catholic’s TJ Harrell seemed like he was everywhere on the field Friday night as the Crusaders dominated Melbourne Central Catholic 45-10 in the Class 3A-Region 2 final.

“It happened so fast,” MCC head coach Mike Riazzi said after the game. “My head is still spinning.”

MCC (11-1), which came into the game undefeated, never had a chance to get going, coughing up the ball on its second play from scrimmage. Tampa Catholic’s Harrell proceeded to run the ball up the middle on the next play for the Crusaders’ first score. From there it was Tampa Catholic all the way as the Crusaders (10-2) dominated the Hustlers in all phases.

Harrell finished the night with two touchdowns while quarterback Kyle Ploucher was near perfect, completing 11 of 14 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns. Two of the touchdowns and 126 yards went to receiver Justin Motlow.

Tampa Catholic will host Jacksonville Trinity Christian in the state semifinals.
