Strawberry Crest High won the Western Conference Cheerleading Championship last week in the annual competition for Hillsborough County public schools.
The Chargers, fourth in last year’s Class 2A small division co-ed state competition, finished 47 points ahead of runner-up Bloomingdale.
Bloomingdale edged third-place Sickles by a point, 322-321, while Alonso, which finished sixth at the Class 2A small varsity division state competition in 2013, was fourth.
Rounding out the top 10 were Freedom, Newsome, Durant, Steinbrenner, Plant City and Tampa Bay Tech.
The Florida High School Athletic Association state cheerleading competition series will be held Thursday-Saturday at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee.
