TAMPA — A message for area coaches: Be afraid of Ray Ray McCloud III this season. Be very afraid.

McCloud did all the scoring to lead Sickles past Tampa Catholic. The junior rushed for three touchdowns and returned a punt and kickoff for scores. McCloud rushed for 218 yards on 26 carries.

McCloud gave the hosts a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter on a zig-zag run for a 21-yard score.

Early in the second half, McCloud gathered a punt around mid-field and took it down the sideline to put Sickles up 14-0. The visitors answered with a 30-yard pass from Kyle Ploucher to Isaiah Osby.

McCloud scored on Sickles’ next series with an 18-yard run, but Ploucher answered with a 5-yard pass to Trajan Herr.

On the next play, McCloud took the Crusaders’ kickoff back 90 yards to give Sickles a 27-14 lead.

Ben Reed ran for a 73-yard TD, but McCloud finished off the scoring with an 8-yard run.
