TAMPA — Avery Foster had more than 100 yards and two touchdowns on the ground to lead Robinson and give Shawn Taylor his first win as the Knights’ head coach.
Leto recovered a surprise onside kick on the opening kickoff, but went three-and-out before punting to Robinson. Foster set the tone early, bursting through the middle for a 62-yard touchdown run that gave the Knights a 7-0 advantage.
After the next two Robinson possessions ended in a turnover on downs and a missed field-goal attempt, senior running back Javaughn Johnson delivered a 31-yard touchdown run to make it 14-0. Johnson added a sack and a fumble recovery.
On the ensuing kickoff, Leto (0-5) fumbled the ball deep in its own territory and Foster took advantage, scoring from 5 yards out for his second rushing touchdown of the night. The Knights scored 42 points in the second quarter and the defense held Leto to one first down in a dominant first half.
Robinson (1-4) added a 12-yard rushing touchdown by Michael Duclos in the third quarter and a Dakarai Reynolds 13-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.
