RIVERVIEW — Landon Galloway threw for 165 yards and a touchdown, and Plant City returned two interceptions for scores in a rout of Bloomingdale.
Galloway completed 15 of 18 passes, including an 8-yard scoring strike to Markese Hargrove with 13 seconds left in the first half for a 12-0 lead. Plant City (4-0) held the Bulls to 83 total yards in a game that was moved from Bloomingdale to Riverview High because of wet field conditions.
“It was a great job by our defensive staff,” Plant City coach Wayne Ward said. “It’s amazing what they’ve done. They kept it simple for our guys and they just came out and believed.”
The Raiders pressured Bloomingdale quarterback Isaiah McIntyre throughout and pulled away in the second half. Hassan Bailey burst through the middle for an 80-yard touchdown run with 7:35 left in the third quarter for a 19-0 lead.
The Bulls (2-2) recovered a fumble at Plant City’s 30 after that, but they missed a field goal.
Tavares Chase weaved 85 yards for a score after an interception on the final play of the third, and Sawyer Dawson went 40 yards early in the fourth as the Raiders sealed it.
