PLANT CITY — Plant City scored on its first two possessions to take a 10-0 lead midway through the first quarter as it rolled past Wharton.

Plant City wide receiver Tavares Chase caught touchdown passes of 10 and 45 yards, intercepted two Wharton passes and provided a key block to spring his quarterback for a 28-yard run.

Reaquavious Young ran back a 70-yard interception, Christan Hoyle kicked 26- and 46-yard field goals and Markese Hargrove ran for 91 yards.

Meanwhile, Plant City’s defense held Wharton to 45 yards rushing and 95 yards passing.

Wharton quarterback Chase Litton spent much of his time being chased in the backfield by Plant City defenders. He was knocked out in the second half while attempting to gain a few yards on a scramble from the pocket.

Raiders quarterback Landon Galloway ran for 71 yards on 15 carries, including a 3-yard touchdown run to open the game. He threw for 111 yards, connecting on nine of 25, two of which were TD strikes to Chase.

Galloway led his team on a 65-yard drive to open the game, and after a defensive stop, the Raiders came back with a field goal.
