Games Tuesday night, 7

7A-Region 2

WHO: Sickles (18-7) at Wiregrass Ranch (19-6)

NEED TO KNOW: The Bulls and the Gryphons meets for the fourth time this season, with Wiregrass holding a 2-1 edge. The teams have combined for only seven runs in the three games. In the last meeting, Zach Drury had a 10-strikeout no hitter against Sickles to get the Bulls their first district title. The Bulls are looking to make their second-straight region final and should again turn to the Drurys on the mound, while Alex Goebel (.352, 17 RBIs) and Michael Campoamor (.419, 23 RBIs, 4 HRs) have been solid at the plate. Expect Sickles to throw Florida-commit Troy Bacon (7-1, 11.2 ERA, 63 Ks), while Levi Gilcrease leads the team at the plate (.311, 24 RBIs, 4 HRs).

5A-Region 2

WHO: Pasco (17-10) at Sunlake (18-9)

NEED TO KNOW: The Pirates and the Seahawks split two games during the regular season, the last meeting Sunlake won 9-1. The Pirates are in the second round thanks to a strong pitching performance from Malik Johns, who threw a complete-game with 127 pitches against Land O’ Lakes. A.J. Rainaldi has led the way at the plate with 26 RBIs and 4 homers. Sunlake has relied on Zach Howard, Omar Cala and David Castillo to score runs, while Castillo held Brooksville Hernando to only two hits last week. Castillo is batting .360 with 32 hits and 15 RBIs.

3A-Region 2

WHO: Tampa Prep (18-10) at Bishop McLaughlin (18-7)

NEED TO KNOW: The Terrapins and the Hurricanes meet for the fourth time this season, but it was Bishop that won the district championship 2-0 after losing a combined 16-4 in the previous two meetings. The Hurricanes have turned to R.J. Perciavalle (.270, 15 RBIs) and Dillon Morton (.322, 14 RBIs) at the plate, while Drew Stofanik hit a big homer in the region quarterfinals. On the mound, Will Potosky, Carson Ragsdale and Jack Tyler have combined for 11 wins and 84 strikeouts. The Terrapins are led by Luis Medina (.463, 28 RBIs, 3 HRs) and Will Ransom (5-2, 2.16 ERA, 51 strikeouts).
