Cleandra Roberts scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Miami Norland to a 43-38 overtime win over Pensacola in the Class 4A state girls basketball final Saturday at the Lakeland Center.
The Vikings (27-2) were also state champions in 2009, but in 6A.
Roberts, a 5-foot-11 senior small forward, was only 6-for-18 from the field, but went 6-for-6 at the foul line in overtime, when she scored eight of her points.
Senior guard Stephanie Edwards added 14 points, six rebounds and six assists.
Norland, which outscored the Tigers 12-7 in overtime, outrebounded its opponent 36-32, including 22-8 after halftime.
Pensacola (28-3) got 18 points and a game-high 13 rebounds from senior forward Jasmine Richardson. She was 9-for-15 from the field, while her teammates combined to go 9-for-38.
