CLEARWATER — Donavan Hale threw five touchdowns — three to receiver Raheem Harvey — and ran for another to lead Largo to a blowout victory against Countryside, 42-14.

Hale, a junior quarterback, connected with Harvey, who outjumped a defender for an 8-yard TD pass early in the first quarter to set the tone for Largo.

Countryside running back Dante Satcher made it 14-7 early in the second when he broke free for a 26-yard TD run. However, the Cougars had no answer for the Largo offense.

Hale led the Packers on 49-yard, six-play drive that culminated in Hale’s 6-yard TD run that gave the Packers a 21-7 lead at the half.

Hale connected with Jonathan Crawford on a 9-yard TD on the first drive of the third quarter to make it 28-7.

“I know we got the best receivers in the county, so I just gave them a chance and they came down with the ball,” Hale said.

Running back John Clark had 116 rushing yards for Largo.
