Academy of the Lakes “Dirty Dozen” 7-on-7 football team is still alive in the playoffs.

On Friday evening, the Wildcats (6-2) will travel to Brandon to face FISH school at 7:30 in the second-round of the playoffs that pits them in a rematch with Hawks (8-2).

Academy won a September game 52-20 against FISH.

Last week, the Wildcats downed Lakeland Geneva 42-6 behind quarterback Max Stepanets, who threw for two touchdowns, and Cody Breaux and Evan Gordy, who combined for five touchdowns.

Running back Ahkil McGill, who leads the team in rushing, missed the game due to injury, according to coach John Castelamare.

Academy, which could advance to the third round for the first time in program history, is looking to add a trophy to its mantle, after winning the 6-man championship in 2006.
