To preview the 2013 high school football season, The Tampa Tribune is counting down the top 5 teams in Pasco County. These preseason rankings were voted on by by Tribune corresponddents Mike Camunas, Chris Errington, Kyle LoJacono, Bart O’ Connell, Kenny Sanders and Andy Villamarzo.

The Pasco High football team is the undisputed preseason favorite to continue its regular-season winning streak and win, yet another, district title.

Coach Tom McHugh, who enters his seventh season as Pasco County’s most-tenured coach, brings one of his most talented teams to the field, boasting great offensive skill players, an experienced quarterback, a large offensive line and impressive secondary that has two Division-I recruits.

The Pirates have not lost a regular-season game in more than three seasons (38 games) and been to the state semifinals in two of the past five seasons, so expectations, like always, are high for players such as QB Ben Chandler, WR Malik Johns, WR Nate Craig, DB Lane Stancil, TE R.J. Scaife and LB Brandon Debyah.
