DURANT 28

— In a back-and-forth game filled with big plays, Durant made one more big play than Orlando Oak Ridge to come away with the victory.

Durant was leading 12-6 with less than 30 seconds to go in the first half and had the ball on the Oak Ridge 5-yard line. Durant threw an interception on the goal line, and it was returned 100 yards to put Oak Ridge up 14-12 at the half.

Durant responded in the second half by forcing a safety on the first play from scrimmage. The Cougars followed it up by blocking a punt that was recovered in the end zone by Garrett Waits to put Durant up 21-14.

Oak Ridge came back with an 80-yard drive to tie it and then picked off another Durant pass to set up a field goal to take a 24-21 lead with six minutes to play.

Durant put together its third drive of at least 10 plays and Chris Atkins scored the winning touchdown on a 38-yard run with less than 1:30 to play.
