Countryside 35, Seminole 21

SEMINOLE — Dante Satcher ran for two touchdowns to lead Countryside to a victory against Class 7A-District 9 rival Seminole.

Satcher and Mike Johnson, both senior running backs, combined for 235 yards rushing for the Cougars.

Satcher’s second touchdown run — a 40-yard counter down the left sideline — made it 28-14 midway through the fourth after Seminole had cut the lead to seven on a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Aaron Dever to tight end Jamaal Jackson on 4th-and-goal.

Countryside benefited from five Seminole turnovers. After recovering a fumble at midfield, the Cougars went on a six-play drive that culminated in Johnson’s 1-yard touchdown to make it 21-7 heading into the fourth.

Seminole started strong, as Dever connected with Ja’Quanne Dickens on a 52-yard touchdown pass after recovering Johnson’s fumble near midfield.

But Countryside answered with a touchdown on the ensuing drive early in the second quarter. Senior quarterback Trent Chmelik found a wide-open Sylvester Kimbrough on a 57-yard touchdown pass.
