BRANDON - On Brandon's senior night, the Eagles were able to scratch and claw their way to a victory against the visiting Chamberlain Chiefs on Friday night.
Darius Lee scored with 4:57 left in the third quarter on a 3-yard run, providing the Eagles with the only points they would need in what could be described as a defensive slugfest.
Lee finished with 144 all-purpose yards, helping Brandon eat up clock and field position.
On defense, the Eagles were led by linebacker Shawn Council's four sacks.
Council and the rest of Brandon's defense held tough throughout the game.
They recorded the Eagles' first shutout victory of the season.
Chamberlain's offense was led by the tandem of running backs, Blake Bell and Andra Hubbard. Bell picked up 62 all-purpose yards, with Hubbard picking up 40 yards on the ground.
The win moved Brandon to 2-6 on the season and ended a four-game losing streak. Chamberlain, meanwhile, dropped to 1-8.
