RIVERVIEW — Tommy McLaughlin completed four second-half touchdown passes to help the Bulls rally from a 17-point deficit in a Class 8A-District 6 game.
The comeback might not have been miraculous, but Logan Crouse was thinking otherwise after accounting for the first three late scoring plays for Bloomingdale (4-3, 2-1).
“I just want to thank God, because he definitely blessed us in the second half,” the junior wide receiver said.
“When you have a 6-foot-6 (receiver), you can do about anything,” McLaughlin said.
Riverview (2-5, 0-3) led 10-0 at halftime on a Fred McCoy touchdown run from a yard out and a 25-yard field goal by Brandon Stage.
McLaughlin and Crouse connected on a 12-yard scoring pass midway through the third quarter, but Keisean Young scored two touchdowns in span of 3:43 to extend the Riverview lead to 24-7.
Bloomingdale continued its aerial assault with scoring strikes of 6 and 7 yards to Crouse and a 25-yarder to senior wideout Cody Decker for the winner with 3:30 remaining in the game.
