BRANDON — Coming into this matchup, Bloomingdale and Brandon were supposed to be evenly matched. However, the final score showed otherwise.

With a combination of a relentless defense and a powerful offensive attack, Bloomingdale had just enough to hold off Brandon.

After an hourlong rain delay, Bloomingdale came out sluggish and it looked like Brandon would make it a competitive game by holding the Bulls to nine points in the first half. The second half was a different story. The Bulls overwhelmed the Eagles with their offense, led by quarterback Isaiah McIntyre.

Bloomingdale relied heavily on the big-play capability of McIntyre, who came up with big play after big play. McIntyre beat the Eagles’ defense with 67 yards rushing and completed 11 of 21 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Lucas Jose, who has proven to have a strong leg, displayed it by kicking a 44-yard field goal.

Aside from the solid offensive performance, Bloomingdale’s defense put on quite a show by forcing four fumbles and registering six sacks.

Brandon’s Jonathan Jones finished with 74 yards rushing.

Bloomingdale is off next week, while Brandon is at Riverview on Thursday.
