TAMPA - Blake's homecoming celebration was seriously dampened by Lakewood's offense in the Spartans' big victory.

Sermitrius Dennis set the tone in the first quarter on Lakewood's first drive of the game. Dennis scored on a 24-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jermiel Douse.

The domination continued, highlighted by an 80-yard touchdown run by Bernard Reedy to put Lakewood ahead 20-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Blake could not recover as the Spartans' defense shut out the Yellow Jackets' offense.

Blake was hampered by its turnovers. Late in the second quarter, Lakewood's Deonte Jackson picked up a Blake fumble at the Spartans' 17-yard line.

Another Blake fumble, in its end zone, resulted in a safety to start the third quarter. The subsequent 62-yard kickoff return by Douse capped the game's scoring.

Blake's Michael McFarland, who has committed to play at the University of Florida next season, did not play in the blowout homecoming loss.

The victory improved Lakewood to 6-2, while Blake dropped to 1-7.
