Berkeley Prep 44, Middleton 6

— Brad Mayes threw four touchdowns and Gordon Stetson scored three times to lead Berkeley Prep to 44 first-half points as the Buccaneers beat Middleton.

Stetson scored the game’s first touchdown on an 8-yard run. Later in the first quarter, the sophomore returned a kickoff 67 yards for a score. In the second quarter, Mayes found him for a 34-yard touchdown hookup.

Mayes’ first touchdown throw went to 6-foot-5 target Jacob Mathis for 6 yards. He later found the junior receiver again for a 4-yard score.

Mayes’ other touchdown was a 54-yard throw to Addison Grams.

Mayes was 9-for-11 for 185 yards, with all of his passing done in the first half.

Stetson had 32 rushing yards and 118 receiving to go along with his kickoff return TD.

The Buccaneers defense set up three offensive drives inside the 10-yard line, and Bo Peek sacked Antonio Nelson for a safety.

On the game’s final play, the Tigers’ Nelson found Russell Booth for a 90-yard score.
