RUSKIN — Armwood continued rolling through its undefeated season with another victory against a Class 6A-District 8 opponent.
The Hawks (7-0, 4-0) led 49-0 at the half before Lennard (0-8, 0-5) got on the board in the third quarter with a 53-yard touchdown pass to Tre Jones.
Armwood has now allowed less than 10 points in every game its played and has given up six or less points three times and recorded three shutouts. For the season, the Hawks have outscored their opponents by a combined 247-23.
The Hawks have also outscored their last two opponents, Leto and Lennard, by a combined 135-6 with running clocks used throughout the second halves of each game.
King, Chamberlain and Strawberry Crest remain in Armwood’s path of yet another undefeated season and homefield advantage for at least one game in the postseason.
Jefferson, which lost to Armwood 28-9 earlier this season, also looks like a lock for the 6A-8 runner-up spot after defeating district opponent King 40-16 on Friday. The Dragons are now 6-1, 5-1 on the year.
Lennard plays at winless Leto next week before finishing its season at Spoto on Nov. 1.
