Anclote 44, Fivay 21

HOLIDAY — Anclote broke open a tight game in the second half to beat Fivay in a non-district matchup.

The Sharks (2-3) came out of the gate quickly on offense, with a 45-yard touchdown run by Willie Barrett (19 carries 115 yards) to put them in the lead.

Fivay (2-2) would answer with a run of its own when Davion Sutton (15 carries, 134 yards) took one 80 yards for a score.

The Falcons scored on a 1-yard run by Sutton and a 21-yard pass from Eric Vitale to Christian Coleman as Fivay took a 21-20 lead into the half.

The Sharks would lean on the running game in the second half, with Trent Crawford scoring on a 37-yard run. Crawford had 141 yards on 20 carries. Jonte Scott added a 3-yard run to put the Falcons in a deep hole.

Anclote's ground game racked up 313 yards in the victory.

Anclote hosts River Ridge next Friday in a 5A-7 district matchup, while Fivay hosts a 6A-6 contest against Springstead.
