Mitchell High distance runner Kelli Williams won two titles Thursday in the Class 3A-Region 2 Track and Field Meet at Harmony High.
The meet was delayed due to a heavy rain, hail and lightning storm. The finals started around 8:30 p.m. instead of the scheduled 7 p.m.
Williams easily won her second straight region title in the 1,600 meters in a time of 5:07.84. She also took the 800 meters title for the second straight year with a 2:21.22.
The Wiregrass Ranch boys were third in the team points with 50.
Defending state champion pole vaulter Alex Kazanski of Wiregrass Ranch won the region title with a 14-6. Mitchell's Ryan Jerothe was second with 14-0. Evan Bales of River Ridge was fourth with a 13-0.
The Wiregrass Ranch 4x800 girls relay (Ariel Grey, Alex Diepholz, Marissa Ginn-Davis and Elise Cedre) took third with a time of 9:53.92. The Wiregrass Ranch boys 4x800 (Josh Reilly, Ian Cassette, Logan Seltzer and Tyler Mattera) also took third with a time of 8:14.
Ridgewood's Tony Perez won the triple jump (45-1) and took fourth in the long jump with a 22-7.
Land O' Lakes' Nicole Woodard was second in the long jump with an 18-4.
Wiregrass Ranch's Travis Manecki was second in the discus with a 149-foot throw.
Gulf's Jeff Kruse was fourth in the shot put with a 48-1.
Wiregrass Ranch's Logan Seltzer was fourth in the 1,600 meter run with a 4:31.41.
Ridgewood's Karissa Bertling was third in the 300 meters with a 46.1. She was second in the 200 meters with 25.15.
Land O' Lakes' Kellie Grimes was third in the 400 meters with a 59.75 time.
In the 4x100 relay, Zephyrhills was second (49.25), Wiregrass Ranch was third (50.38) and Land O' Lakes fourth (50.58).
Zephyrhills' Kara Young was fourth with a 12.52 time in the 100 meters.
Wiregrass Ranch's Nikita Shah was second in the 3,200 meters with a 11:36 and senior teammate Ariel Grey was fourth (11:46.44.
Gulf's Paige Pinder was second in the 100 meter hurdles with a 16.09.
Wiregrass Ranch's Ryan Pulsifer was second in the 3,200 meters (9:44.12).
Ridgewood teammates Thomas Rodriguez and Tony Hays both qualified in the high jump. Rodriguez was second with 6-2 and Hays was fourth with a 6-0.
