Clearing up Bracket Confusion

Katherine Smith
Published: December 1, 2008
Armwood is undefeated and Plant has one loss. So how exactly do the Panthers get to host Friday night's playoff game?

The FHSAA alternates host sites every year. With the way the brackets are set up this year, the team on the top of the bracket gets home-field advantage. The winner of Friday's game will host the winner of the Palm Beach Gardens Dwyer/Miami Booker T.Washington game in the state semifinal on Dec. 12.

Last year, the regional final was at Armwood, with the Hawks prevailing, 36-7. In 2006, Plant hosted Armwood in the regional final. The Panthers won, 38-20, and went onto to win the Class 4A championship.
