TAMPA — The Lightning signed defenseman Andrej Sustr to a one-year, one-way contract on Friday.
Sustr joined Tampa Bay as a free agent out if the University of Nebraska-Omaha at the end if the 2012-13 season. The 6-foot-8 defenseman was a restricted free agent.
In his first full season with the Lightning, Sustr appear in 43 games, picking up his first career goal and adding seven assists during his rookie season, including a pair of shorthanded assists. The 23-year-old also played in 12 games with Syracuse of the American Hockey League.
Tampa Bay still has five restricted free agents — Brett Connolly, Richard Panik, Cody Kunyk and Philippe Paradis. Defenseman Dmitry Korobov is also unsigned but recently inked a contract with Atlant of the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia.
