The Lightning prospect team was undefeated at 2-0-1 in a weekend tournament after Sunday’s 2-1 victory against host Florida at Saveology IcePlex in Coral Springs. Nikita Kucherov had both Tampa Bay goals in the finale to finish with four in three games. Kucherov played on a line Sunday with 2013 No. 3 overall pick Jonathan Drouin, a combination coach Rob Zettler liked.
“Drouin and Kucherov were kind of magical out there,’’ Zettler told the team web site. “Some really nice chances and an unbelievable goal.’’
Goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis stopped 22 of 23 shots.
All prospect team players are expected to report when Tampa Bay opens training camp on Wednesday.
