SCOUTING THE CANADIENS: Montreal dropped out of the Northeast Division lead on Tuesday after losing for the seventh time in the past nine games. During that span, the Canadiens have scored more than two goals three times and have scored one goal in the past two games while going 4-for-26 (15.4 percent) on the power play in those nine games.

INJURIES: Canadiens - D Andrei Markov (knee), out; D Josh Georges (knee), day-to-day. Lightning - RW Steve Downie (ankle), G Mike Smith (knee), out; D Randy Jones (upper body), questionable.

NEED TO KNOW: This is the second of four meetings; Tampa Bay won in overtime on Oct. 13 in Montreal. ... C Vinny Lecavalier has four goals in the past three games and has six points in seven games since returning from a broken hand. ... LW Simon Gagne has no goals and one assist in the past five games. ... G Carey Price is 3-3-2 with a 2.54 goals-against average and .909 save percentage in eight career games against Tampa Bay. ...
