The University of South Florida women’s basketball team was picked third in the American Athletic Conference’s preseason poll, while guard Inga Orekhova was named to the AAC’s preseason all-league team.

Defending national champion Connecticut was picked first, while Louisville, a Final Four team, was second. USF was followed by Rutgers, SMU, Memphis, Cincinnati, UCF, Temple and Houston in the poll.

The Bulls were 22-11 last season and took California, an eventual Final Four team, into overtime during the NCAA tournament’s second round.

Orekhova averaged 12.7 points last season with a team-high 82 3-pointers.
