NEED TO KNOW: USF will play its seventh consecutive game without junior point guard Anthony Collins, who could be seeking a medical hardship to regain his season if he doesn’t return. … USF senior Victor Rudd, who had 23 points and 10 rebounds in a win at Temple, leads the Bulls in scoring (16.2 points) and rebounding (7.3). … For the first time in the program’s 43-season history, USF is 4-0 in true road games. … SMU is coached by 73-year-old Hall of Famer Larry Brown, the only man in history to win titles in the NCAA (1988 Kansas) and NBA (2004 Detroit Pistons). Brown, guiding his third college program, has been head coach of nine NBA teams. … SMU, which defeated Connecticut 74-65 on Jan. 4, is without 6-foot-11 center Yanick Moreira, who suffered a partially torn MCL in his left knee during practice on Thursday. … SMU leads the AAC in field-goal percentage (49.1 percent) and field-goal defense (36.5 percent). … USF faces No. 19-ranked Cincinnati on Saturday afternoon at the Sun Dome.
