GAINESVILLE -

Skyler Mornhinweg, a high school quarterback who verbally committed to Penn State, instead will sign a letter of intent to attend the University of Florida.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound star at St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, the son of Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, had committed to PSU in July.

Mornhinweg made his decision last week but decided to wait to make it public out of respect for Joe Paterno’s family and the former Penn State coach’s funeral services.
