The Gators received some good news Wednesday.
RB Jeff Demps, who left Saturday's game with a foot injury, had his boot removed and participated in part of practice Wednesday. He was seen walking off of the practice field with a slight limp.
"I'd say it's probable that he'll play (against Alabama)," Coach Urban Meyer said.
If the speedster misses Saturday's game, UF would lose about 55 percent of its rush offense. But OL Xavier Nixon doesn't think Demps' availability will impact the offense too much.
"He's a good player, as everyone knows and can see," Nixon said, "but whether he's in or not really doesn't make a difference to us."
If Demps does miss the game, RB Emmanuel Moody said he and Mike Gillislee would have to carry the load. And Moody is ready to do that after missing practice last week because of a thigh bruise.
"This is the healthiest I've been all season," Moody said.
