SAN DIEGO -

Wesley Carroll came off the bench to throw three touchdown passes to lead Florida International to a 28-17 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

Carroll, who passed for 213 yards, came in after starter Jake Medlock was injured on the second play of the game. Carroll had touchdowns of 13 yards to Colt Anderson, 27 yards to Glenn Coleman and 58 yards to T.Y. Hilton as the Golden Panthers (7-4, 4-3 Sun Belt Conference) built a 21-7 lead in the first half.

The seven regular-season wins are the most in FIU program history.

Louisiana-Monroe (3-8, 2-5) had more first downs (25-17) and total yards (356-340) than FIU, but its offense had trouble reaching the end zone.

Kolton Browning scored on a 1-yard run in the fourth quarter to provide the final margin. The Warhawks' only other touchdown came on a 98-yard kickoff return by Luther Ambrose.

EAST CAROLINA 38,

CENTRAL FLORIDA 31

Dominique Davis threw four touchdown passes, including a pair to Reese Wiggins, but it took a 56-yard touchdown run by Torrance Hunt with 2:10 left in the game for East Carolina (4-5, 4-3 Conference USA) to beat Central Florida (4-7, 2-5).

East Carolina broke a two-game losing streak and kept its bowl hopes alive.

UCF lost for the third straight time and was knocked out of bowl contention.

Davis finished 19 of 31 for 203 yards but was intercepted once. His four touchdown passes matched his season high set in East Carolina's season-opening loss to South Carolina. One of his scoring passes to Wiggins was for 84 yards, the fourth longest in East Carolina history.

Davis also added a career-high 62 rushing yards.

TROY 34, FAU 7

Corey Robinson threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns as Troy (3-7, 2-4 Sun Belt) routed winless Florida Atlantic (0-10, 0-7).

The Trojans snapped a five-game losing streak, while the Owls remained the only winless team in the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Robinson threw touchdown passes of 57 and 25 yards to Eric Thomas, who caught six passes for a career-high 128 yards. Thomas has nine touchdowns this season, tying a school-record at the FBS level.

Robinson, whose 396 yards were just eight off his career high of 404 set last year at UAB, also threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Khary Franklin.

SAN DIEGO 23,

JACKSONVILLE 14

Kenny James rushed for 122 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead San Diego (9-2, 7-1) to a share of the Pioneer League title with a win over Jacksonville (7-4, 6-2). San Diego tied idle Drake for the championship, winning its fourth league title and first since 2007. Josh McGregor, the league's top-rated passer, was 22 of 36 for 214 yards for Jacksonville. But he threw a pick and lost two fumbles.
