TAMPA — Another Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ free agent has moved on to another team. Erik Lorig, the Bucs’ starting fullback the past three years, signed a four-year deal with New Orleans, the Saints announced Tuesday.
Lorig joined linebackers Adam Hayward (Washington Redskins) and Dekoda Watson (Jacksonville Jaguars) as former Bucs who signed with other teams.
Also on Tuesday, the Bucs visited with former Raiders, Panthers and Giants wide receiver Louis Murphy, an NFL source confirmed. Murphy, a University of Florida product, caught six passes for 37 yards and a touchdown with the Giants last year.
Another possible target is receiver Earl Bennett, who was released Tuesday by the Bears. A third-round pick of the Bears and then-coach Lovie Smith in 2008, Bennett caught 32 passes for 243 yards and four touchdowns last year as the team’s third receiver.
