The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have known their opponents for the upcoming season for a few months.
Tonight at 8, the NFL will announce the 2013 schedule, filling in the “when” to go with the “who” and “where.”
Based on the league scheduling formula, the Bucs already know they will host NFC South rivals Atlanta, Carolina and New Orleans, as well as Arizona, San Francisco, Buffalo, Miami and Philadelphia.
Tampa Bay will travel to play their three division foes, as well as St. Louis, Seattle, New England, Detroit and the New York Jets.
The Bucs will also learn if they will host a prime-time game.
Every team will play at least one game on Thursday night, broadcast nationally on NFL Network. Last year, the Bucs traveled to Minnesota on a Thursday night, winning 36-17 as Doug Martin picked up 214 total yards and two touchdowns.
The Bucs last played on Monday night in October 2011, a 20-10 home win over Indianapolis. They last played on Sunday night in October 2008, a 20-10 home win over Seattle.
Tampa Bay is 18-22 all-time in prime time (14-9 at home, 4-13 away).
The Bucs’ preseason schedule has been mostly finalized. Tampa Bay will host Baltimore (Aug. 8-11), travel to New England (Aug. 16, Fox TV), travel to Miami (Aug. 22-25) and host Washington (Aug. 29-30).
