GALLOWAY'S GENEROSITY

Wide receiver Joey Galloway was back at practice Monday in Lake Buena Vista, and 10-year-old Christian Lee of Tampa and 9-year-old Jeffrey Leach of Niceville couldn't have been happier about it.

Lee and Leach became the latest wide-eyed beneficiaries of Galloway's habit of tossing the ball to a kid in the stands every time he scores a training camp touchdown.

'That was awesome,' Leach said with a smile. 'I came here hoping just to see some players and I got a ball. I can't believe it.'

'I never thought I'd get a ball,' Lee said. 'I actually had to tackle him Leach on the ground to get it, but I got it. We're going to try to get some more.'

Galloway's generosity came one day after he skipped a day of workouts to watch his Arena Football League team - the Columbus Destroyers - play in the AFL title game in New Orleans. The Destroyers fell 55-33 to the San Jose SaberCats. Galloway is part owner of the Destroyers.

Galloway's habit of tossing balls to kids dates to at least last season.

'I do it when I score touchdowns in practice to make it more enjoyable for the kids that are there watching,' Galloway said.
