Wide receiver Preston Parker displayed a knack for making big plays on third down in 2001, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers rewarded the former Florida State standout with a bigger contract.

Parker recently signed a one-year extension that includes a $540,000 salary for the 2012 season, a $1 million base salary for 2013 and a $50,000 signing bonus, NFL contract records show.

Parker, who signed with the Bucs in 2010 as an undrafted free agent, ranked fourth on the team with 40 receptions last season, but tied for 11th in the league in third-down receptions with 20.
