The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made a move Tuesday to spark a struggling punt return unit by signing veteran wide receiver Roscoe Parrish.
The Bucs also released wide receiver Jordan Shipley, who fumbled a punt Sunday at Dallas that led to the Dallas Cowboys taking a 10-7 lead in the second quarter..
Parrish, 30, played seven seasons with Buffalo, catching 134 passes for 1,502 yards and seven touchdowns. His 12-yard career average in 135 punt returns ranks second in the NFL since 2005 behind Chicago's Devin Hester (12.8) and seventh-best in league history (75 returns or more).
The Bills selected Parrish in the second round of the 2005 draft out of the University of Miami. He led the league in punt returns in both 2007 and 2008.
