FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers flew to New England on Monday for a series of workouts against the Patriots in what they hoped would be cooler, drier weather conditions than what they’re used to in Tampa.
They did not get it today. Not the drier part anyway.
Weather forecasts here called for warm, humid conditions and afternoon rain, so to avoid a possible washout of the first joint practice the Bucs and Patriots agreed to begin today’s workout at 11.a.m.
The original start time for practice was 2:20 p.m.
The change isn’t that big of a deal for the Bucs. They’re accustomed to starting workouts early. Most practices at One Buc Place this training camp have begun at 8:45 a.m.
The Patriots, who usually don’t have to worry about a threat of rain, work under a different schedule. Their team meeting times are early in the day with practices running from 2:20 to 4:30 p.m.
