TAMPA -

Rookie running back Doug Martin, who set a franchise record for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by rushing for 251 yards and four touchdowns Sunday in Oakland, is one of three finalists for FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week.

The first-round draft choice out of Boise State keyed Tampa Bay's 42-32 triumph by becoming the first NFL back since at least 1940 to score on three runs of at least 45 yards in one game, according to STATS LLC.

Martin has 794 rushing yards at the midpoint of the regular season, ranking third in the league, and his 1,039 yards from scrimmage is second in the NFL to Minnesota's Adrian Peterson (1,107).

Also nominated are Peterson, who ran for 182 yards and scored twice in a loss to Seattle, and Pittsburgh's Isaac Redman, who gained 147 yards as the Steelers beat the Giants.

The winner will be announced Friday.
