Born to run
When running back Bobby Rainey ran for 163 yards against the Falcons on Sunday, he became the third Buccaneers back to run for at least 100 yards in a game this year, joining Doug Martin and Mike James. That made the Bucs the first team since the 2007 New York Giants (Brandon Jacobs, Derrick Ward, Ahmad Bradshaw) to have three different players run for at least 100 yards in a game in the same season.
Did you know?
Since the beginning of the 2012 season, Bucs WR Vincent Jackson has nine 100-yard receiving games, sixth-most in the league during that span. Only Detroit’s Calvin Johnson (16), Cincinnati’s A.J. Green (11), Chicago’s Brandon Marshall (11), Houston’s Andre Johnson (10) and Denver’s Demaryius Thomas (10) have more.
By the numbers
The Bucs have run for 140 yards or more in three consecutive games for the first time since 2005. The franchise has never had four straight games with at least 140 rushing yards.
Quote of the day
“Since college, Reggie Bush has been a great open-field guy and he’s still doing it. He looks no different. He’s quick, he’s got moves and he’s got a little power to him.’’
