Band on the run

Bucs RB Doug Martin has been running with some notable company since entering the league last year as a first-round draft pick from Boise State. Martin has run for 1,751 yards in 19 career games for a 92.1-yard average. Only six other players in NFL history have gained 90 or more yards per game through their first 19 games: Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Adrian Peterson, Terrell Davis, Alfred Morris and Eric Dickerson.

Did you know?

Bucs S Mark Barron is one of only four players — and the only defensive back — with at least 25 tackles, one sack and one pass interception this season. The others are Buffalo LB Kiki Alonso, Jacksonville LB Paul Posluszny and Baltimore LB Daryl Smith.

By the numbers

Bucs CB Darrelle has played the Arizona Cardinals once in his career. On Sept. 28, 2008, he had two interceptions, including a 32-yard return for a touchdown.

Quote of the day

“Your quarterback has to walk different than everybody else in the locker room. We can talk about some of the greats — Peyton Manning comes to work with a certain mind-set. I’m sure Tom Brady does, as well. I know they’re future Hall of Famers and all-stars, but for a young quarterback, you’ve just got to help him and surround him and make sure he’s comfortable so he can build his confidence and play great.”

Injury report

For the Bucs, OL Gabe Carimi (illness), WR Vincent Jackson (ribs), DT Derek Landri (knee) and WR Mike Williams (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday. TE Tom Crabtree (ankle) and DT Gary Gibson (back) were limited. DT Gerald McCoy (ankle) and CB Rashaan Melvin (hamstring) fully participated. Notably for the Cardinals, RB Rashard Mendenhall (toe) participated fully after being limited on Wednesday.
