TAMPA -

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bolstered their defensive tackle position Saturday by agreeing to terms with veteran free agent Amobi Okoye on a one-year deal, according to Okoye's agent, Darin Morgan.

Okoye, 24, posted four sacks for the Bears in a limited role last season. He was a four-year starter for the Texans, who drafted him 10th overall out of Louisville in 2007. Chicago signed him as a free agent last summer and made him part of a three-man rotation.

Okoye has missed only two games in his NFL career. He registered 11 sacks in four seasons with the Texans, who released him after the 2010 season.

The Buccaneers finished last in the league in rushing defense in 2011 and defensive tackles Gerald McCoy and Brian Price have been plagued by injuries since being selected in the first two rounds of the 2010 draft.
