TAMPA — A lot of Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans have been clamoring for the team to sign a veteran pass rusher. On Tuesday, the Bucs did.
The team signed Trevor Scott, a five-year NFL veteran with 16.5 career sacks who spent the 2012 season with the New England Patriots.
Scott, a product of Buffalo University, spent the first four years of his career with the Oakland Raiders, recording 12 sacks his first two years.
A sixth-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2008, Scott joined the Patriots for the 2012 season and recorded three sacks in 14 games.
Throughout his NFL career, Scott has played in 72 games with 18 starts, recording 11 tackles, two forced fumbles and a pass breakup.
