ST. PETERSBURG – The Rays are looking to become only the sixth team in the last 25 years to have a 10-game losing streak and a 10-game winning streak in the same season this afternoon. All it will take is another win.

The Rays, winners of nine straight, will send Chris Archer to the mound as they try to sweep the Red Sox and creep closer to a playoff spot.

They begin the day 3.5 games out of the final Wild Card spot and 6.5 games behind the first place Orioles in the AL East.

The Rays are also two games under .500. They haven’t been this close to an even record since May 4.
