ST. PETERSBURG -- RF Wil Myers had his cast removed from his tight wrist and has been cleared to begin baseball activities.

Myers said his wrist, which he fractured May 31 in Boston, is sore from the inactivity. He said he does not know the time table for his return.

The Rays begin a three-game series tonight against the visiting Blue Jays that will take them into the All -Star Break.

Chris Archer will face Mark Buehrle, who has a history of being tough on the Rays.

SS Yunel Escobar returns from the disabled list today after missing 16 days with a sore right shoulder. LHP Jake McGee has been placed on the paternity list after his wife, Morgan, gave birth to their daughter Rowen Beth on Thursday.

DHing for the Jays tonight is Dan Johnson, author of some of the biggest home runs in Rays history.

Johnson is playing his first game at the Trop since his 9th inning pinch-hit home run against the Yankees sent the final game of the 2011 season into extra innings. Evan Longoria won Game 162 with a walk-off home run that clinched the AL Wild Card.
