Bobby Wilson has made the Opening Day lineup as the backup catcher, beating out rookie Curt Casali, who played in 30 games for the Rays last season.
LAKELAND -- Rays manager Kevin Cash said he will announce the Opening Day roster after today’s game with the Tigers at Joker Marchant Stadium.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- The Rays released INF, Alexi Casilla, who was a six-year minor league free agent and due $100,000 if he was still on the roster today.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- Manager Kevin Cash still won’t name the order in which Jake Odorizzi and Nathan Karns will pitch during the season-opening series against the Orioles. Cash also won’t name the fourth starter.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- LHP Drew Smyly (shoulder tendinitis) is scheduled to throw live batting practice Wednesday and Saturday. After that he should be ready to begin his minor league rehab assignment.
FORT MYERS -- LHP Drew Smyly (shoulder tendinitis) is scheduled to throw a bullpen this morning and said his next step is to face live hitters.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- Rays RHP Alex Cobb played catch Saturday for the first time since March 17 when he was shutdown with tendinitis in his right forearm after throwing three perfect innings against the Phillies on Clearwater.

SARASOTA -- The Rays are expecting a soggy afternoon at Ed Smith Stadium during this afternoon’s game against the Orioles.
PORT CHARLOTTE -- Baseball commissioner Rob Manfred addressed the Rays stadium situation this morning after meeting with the Rays players and staff.
