Amid trade rumors, Price takes mound for Rays

— David Price faces the Pirates this afternoon during a camp day matinee at Tropicana Field. It is the last game of this homestand for the Rays. Will it be the last start at the Trop as a Ray for Price?

Possibly, if you believe the trade rumors that have the Rays ready to move their $14 million ace.

What is known is this: The Rays need a win to avoid being swept for the seventh time this season. They have lost 20 of their last 28 games and have lost 12 of their last 16 series.

The Pirates, winners of 10 of their last 15, seem ready to make an assault on the NL Central standings.

SS Yunel Escobar is not in the lineup because of a sore right shoulder suffered in Tuesday’s loss. Manager Joe Maddon said he expects Escobar to be ready to play Friday when the Rays begin an 11-game, three-city road trip with a day/night doubleheader in Baltimore.

RHP Alex Colome will pitch the first game of that doubleheader. RHP Jake Odorizzi will pitch the nightcap.

Here are the lineups for today:
